Our Commitment to Accessibility

Sanamen is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all of our users.

We believe that mental health support should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. Accessibility is not just a feature—it is a fundamental aspect of our platform and our mission.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Sanamen is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to achieve full conformance.

Accessibility Features

Our platform includes the following accessibility features:

Keyboard Navigation

All functionality can be accessed using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse. Navigate with Tab, Enter, Space, and Arrow keys.

Screen Reader Compatible

Our platform works with popular screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. Proper semantic HTML and ARIA labels ensure content is announced correctly.

Adjustable Text Size

Text can be resized up to 200% using browser zoom without loss of content or functionality. Our responsive design adapts to your needs.

High Contrast Colors

All text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast requirements (minimum 4.5:1 ratio) for readability. Color is never the only way information is conveyed.

Clear Navigation

Skip navigation links, consistent navigation structure, and clear heading hierarchy help you find what you need quickly.

Form Accessibility

All form fields have clear labels, required fields are marked, and error messages are specific and actionable. Validation is announced to screen readers.

Captions & Transcripts

Video therapy sessions support closed captions. Educational videos include transcripts for those who prefer reading or cannot access audio.

Mobile Accessibility

Touch targets are at least 44x44 pixels, pinch-to-zoom is enabled, and the platform works in portrait and landscape orientations.

Reduced Motion Support

Animations are minimal and respect your system's reduced motion preferences. No content flashes more than 3 times per second.

Consistent Layout

Navigation, buttons, and interactive elements are placed consistently throughout the platform for predictability and ease of use.

Known Issues & Workarounds

We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are actively working to resolve them:

Custom Date Picker Keyboard Navigation

Issue: The custom date picker calendar has limited keyboard navigation support.

Workaround: You can type dates directly into the input field using the format MM/DD/YYYY. We are implementing full arrow key navigation.

Target Resolution: November 14, 2025

Chart Data for Screen Readers

Issue: Analytics charts on the dashboard do not have accessible data tables for screen reader users.

Workaround: You can request a text-based analytics report by contacting support. We are adding data tables for all charts.

Target Resolution: November 21, 2025
